The one thing I don't think I can put into words

Today,  the lights went out.  Today, a legacy officially went dark.

Today is a day of mourning for a community.

And no one knows it.

24.74 acres of prime, waterfront property.

Government and Community.  At odds.  For years.

You would think that if the Governor's Office of Film & Television markets it, then it must be worth something more than a TV appearance.

Larger than the Blue Heron Mill and Centennial Mills sites (combined), it just doesn't hold the sex appeal.

Except for me.

If you saw the raw history this site holds....  Do you know how logs come into a space like this from the water?  Do you know the sheer square footage you need to process old growth timber?  Do you know where your house came from?

I can't show you (I'd have to kill you).

If you knew how many families have their futures tied to this land.

If you knew how this property has impacted our city in the span of its being.

If you knew how dedicated this community is to their way of life.

It still wouldn't matter.  Government and community still at odds.  No one able, from either side, to bridge the gap.  To communicate in a way for both sides to come together.

And that is the rage I can't put into words.
